The 2nd Annual Tequila and Salsa Party

Posted Wednesday, April 09, 2008 @ 11:29 PM by Bryan Daneman

I just realized that I never wrote a wrap-up post for the 2nd Annual Tequila and Salsa Party! I apologize profusely for letting this important task slip by the wayside. I am here right now to mend my lackadaisical ways.

As we expected, the second installment of the Tequila and Salsa Party was a big hit. There were many salsas to be tried, and much tequila to be consumed. In addition to the tequila and salsa, we had some wonderful dishes to chow down on. These dishes included two different types of beef fajitas, beef tacos, and much, much more (I need to go consult some attendees for a refresher).

Among the tequilas, the star of the show had to be the Dos Lunas Reposado and the Dos Lunas Silver. The Dos Lunas tequilas are relatively new on the premium tequila scene, and they took us by surprise. We have Steve and Chloe to thank for bringing them (and leaving them--thanks!!!). Do yourself a favor and run out to your local liquor store and pick a bottle or two up today. If they don't have it, demand that they get it, or take your business elsewhere!

As for the salsas, once again we had a wide array of salsas to choose from. As in previous years (ok, just one previous year), the salsas were a combination of homemade and store-bought favorites, and all were delicious. One thing that everyone noticed this year was a certain level of refinement in the homemade salsas. It seems as though everyone went home after last year's party and did their due diligence and a fair amount of homework in preparation for this year's party.

One final note, before I wrap this up--please bookmark us, or add our RSS feed to your favorite feed reader and be on the lookout for much more frequent and interesting updates to this site. This site isn't really intended to feature the party once a year and be dormant the rest--there's good stuff coming!

Posted Friday, February 08, 2008 @ 11:41 AM by Bryan Daneman

Well, heck—the weekend sure did sneak up fast! There's just one more day until the 2nd Annual Tequila and Salsa Party. Here's a little checklist for all of you:

  • Print a map to the house from the Evite invitation.
  • Don't forget to put our phone number into your phone, in case you get lost.
  • If you're bringing salsa, do bring a bag of your favorite chips (one bag is more than enough).
  • We've got the basics for mixing drinks, but if you want to bring your own equipment (shaker, measuring glass, shot glass...whatever), feel free.
  • Let me know what kind of tequila you're bringing.
  • Let me know if you're bringing a salsa.
  • Let me know what food you're bringing.
  • Show up and have a great time!

Regarding 3 of the last 4 items (the "Let me know" items), just reply to the email I sent a couple of days ago, or use the Contact Us form, if it is working when you read this.

5 Days And Counting

There's just 5 days left until the 2nd Annual Tequila and Salsa Party! Do you know what you're bringing? Is your salsa rounding into shape? Have you decided on a tequila?

These are tough decisions that shouldn't wait until the last minute—guess that means I need to get cracking!

The Heat Is On!

Less than two weeks until the 2nd Annual Tequila and Salsa Party, and already the heat is on! (Hmm...I like that. I think that will be this year's theme). Already, Erin and Sara have perfected their salsa, and I am getting pretty close to perfecting my salsa. There is still so much to do, and I know that these next two weeks are going to fly by.

Geez...I need to get the invites sent out!
